Laura was born in West Sussex in the United Kingdom. In 2001 she and her family moved to La Creuse in the Nouvelle Aquitane region of France. Laura has recently relocated to the Charente department in the region of Poitou-Charentes where later this year she will be opening her gallery/workshop.

Laura's art is inspired by the natural world, in the fields, hedgerows and woodlands

"Art is a connection, a feeling, and in my paintings I hope to transport you to a place of calm, relaxation and beauty."

Describing herself as a mixed media artist with an abstract/impressionist type of style, her current work captures 'wild' nature, which inspires a natural colour palette with texture to create harmony.

To sit and study the detail that a proud standing cow parsley or the humble dandelion displays, is truly fascinating. To lay in a meadow on a summer's day listening to the noise of the busy insects and feeling the warmth of the sun is, to me, complete relaxation! As you walk through the field, let your hand brush through the soft grasses, feel the texture of the leaves and flowers, smell the air. Seasons bring so many changes, warmth is replaced with a freshness and then a cold crispness, the same fields bring new smells and colours and is a joy to the soul to observe and feel."

I hope you find this connection in my art which is a pleasure to share.
